Herbalism Roots Internship Partner

Hearth and Seoul

Meet our new internship partner – Hearth and Seoul. Hearth and Seoul is a local Denver shop for organic herbs and teas, Korean tea blends, natural products, bulk herbs, fresh-made kimchi, and retail gifts.

Christine Young is a Korean American herbalist and writer behind Hearth & Seoul, a wellness shop rooted in tradition, sustainability, and connection. She created the space out of her own need to reconnect with her heritage and to offer others a place where culture, healing, and belonging could coexist. With a background in integrative healthcare, herbalism and a love for storytelling, Christine crafts herbal teas, custom blends, and community-centered education. Hearth & Seoul is both a business and a living archive where cultural practices, accessibility, and heart-led care come together in service of rooted, inclusive wellness.

Hearth and Seoul is a Korean American owned herbal shop that creates custom tea blends, products, and offers classes to the community. Part of their mission is to serve the underserved in the community through donation-based classes and support services. We are set up so that we encourage BIPOC tradition and culture within wellness spaces such as herbalism.

Christine’s advice for students

“Herbalism is such a vague word to encompass an entire world of possibility and connection with the plants and people, and animals. There are so many possibilities, and the path is the important work, what you do on your day to day, what your passions are, and staying in reciprocity with the plants, land, and people you work with. Your experiences will shape you and lead you, so remember to focus on what inspires you and connect deeply with what you do, that’s what creates impact, whether personal or communal.”
