Kimberly Thompson
Herbalist, Licensed Esthetician, Licensed Massage Therapist
Instructor

Kimberly has immersed herself in the healing arts, combining her deep love of plants, holistic health, and bodywork to support others on their wellness journeys. Kimberly has always had an interest in the natural world and holistic health and began formally cultivating her passion in the summer of 1997. She studied herbal medicine and aromatherapy extensively, then became a Clinical Herbalist and Aromatherapist. Her deep connection to plants is infused in every part of her work. She decided to continue her education in massage therapy and graduated in 2001.
She was a staff herbalist at Apothecary Tinctura from 2000-2021, where she managed the lab, taught classes in herbal medicine and aromatherapy, and supported clients with bodywork and her focus on women’s holistic health. She has cultivated a unique style of bodywork that blends all the fundamentals of Western massage, Mayan abdominal massage, Manual Lymph Drainage, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Thai Massage, Ashiatsu (massage using feet), and plant spirit healing. She is also a Certified Cupping Therapist—cupping is one of her favorite modalities to incorporate into sessions.
Kimberly has been an educator at Denver Integrative Massage School since 2014, where she teaches in both the massage program and its sister program, Herbalism Roots. She loves teaching classes in bodywork, plant identification, medicine making, and anything health-related.
In 2017, Kimberly expanded her work to include Esthetics to become a licensed Esthetician after completing her studies at the School of Botanical and Medical Aesthetics. Her private practice blends herbal consultations, integrative massage, and advanced skincare, and offers internal support through herbs and supplements. Her goal is always to help people feel better, from the inside out.
When she is not practicing or teaching, Kim cherishes time with her family: her husband Jeff, son Hunter, and their beloved dog Rosa. She feels grateful every day for the healing gifts of the plants and all the beautiful healing traditions, and the opportunity to share them with others.

I love Kim’s calm energy! She doesn’t rush- she takes her time to make sure the students know that she is present and happy to help them with whatever they might need. She has a genuine passion for helping others- it comes through in her teaching and it is just who she is- I admire this about her sooo much!

Kim teaches from the heart. Her passion for teaching is apparent in how much she lights up when connecting with the students. She always has a kind word or thought for not only the students but her co-workers as well. It is always a pleasure to work with her and I consider myself lucky to have been one of her students!

Kim is a one-of-a-kind instructor who is beyond patient with her teaching style and a passion to make sure her students “get it”. She seamlessly blends tips from all programs into what she shows without overstepping the scope of practice. Kim never hesitates to give little extra tips and tricks that can take a service from good to great.
